Joint Base Charleston holds a few “firsts” for OCL. In 2016, as a result of the overflow of the strong program at Scott AFB, the Air Mobility Command leadership at JB Charleston reached out to our Charleston Community Leadership to learn how they too could bring CST to their base. The Charleston Community team had long been looking at ways to partner with JB Charleston and this set the foundation for the first Program to grow next to a fully established Community. The initial class held on base in October 2016 holds the “honor” of being the first ever CST session to be cancelled after class had began. Hurricane Matthew had other plans for Charleston ~ and the class was halted after the first day ~ with our dedicated participants all returning in December 2016 to finish the session. From this auspicious beginning, today, JB Charleston currently has 2 CST Professors and has touched the lives of over 85 of our brave military men and women.
